ARENA NOTES & HISTORY

  • Originally the Regional Special Events Center, the facility opened in the fall of 1998.
  • The arena  was completed in June of 1998 after the Kentucky State Legislature had committed 18 million dollars to the project and MSU came up with two million.
  • The CFSB Center is a popular destination for the people of the Purchase Area of western Kentucky as it also hosts events that include high school basketball playoffs, concerts, trade shows and Murray State commencements.
  • Murray State was the first school in the Ohio Valley Conference to add video boards in 2009.
  • The arena got a new name in 2010 when it became the CFSB Center.
  • In 2010, a new floor was installed that was used in the NCAA Tournament.
  • In 2014, the paint scheme on the arena basketball floor was re-worked after Murray State rolled out a new logo.

RACER LOCKER ROOMS

  • Both Racer teams have an outstanding locker suite that is the hub of activity especially when the season is going on.
  • The student-athlete's have a modern private locker area that features individual cubicles.
  • The teams have a ready-room that has theater seating for film study and a large TV-lounge area.
  • Each team also has a small kitchen.

CFSB CENTER WEIGHT ROOM

  • MSU student-athletes also have access to a modern 3,000 square foot weight room in the CFSB Center. Both basketball teams work out there as well as the MSU men's and women's golf teams and the MSU women's tennis teams.
